A friend and I are heading out to the village to film people in their costumes at the parade tonight. I am hoping to be able to use this footage in my final project.

Style Frame

This is my style frame for my project. I chose a voodoo style because I felt it falls in line with my concept. The idea of magic and technology seem to someone who is unfamiliar with the hows of technological advances. The idea is to say in this room full of voodoo, photo album turned home video is not operating through magic but technology.

Today, it has been hectic trying to put the final touches on my style frame. I am not the best artist, so I hope this looks okay and shows an accurate idea of what I am trying to portray.

The purpose is to show that draw attention to the only thing in the room that looks archaic (the photo album).

I have been watching videos on MTV2 trying to see things that were gothic and inspiring for my project. Today I saw the HP commercial for pictures. I like the first one better. That one kind of inspires me too.

I am looking inside old photo albums trying to capture inspiration and motivation. I have an idea as to what I want the project to look like, however I am still uncertain about aspects concerning the opening shot and the closing shot. Tonight I will watch some movies to look at classic transitions.

Still having trouble trying to figure out how to post things to your blog using the nyu website. For the script I have decided that this project will focus on a parade for a homecoming.

Journal Entry for week of Oct. 10

10/10- Today I have been brainstorming about what I want to film. So far I have decided record an outside event like a parade. I need to check and see if there are any coming up soon.

10/11- I must find a camera with a tripod so my footage isn't all over the place. I also must set a deadline for finishing my filming and starting my editing.

10/12- Today I am working on my treatment. I have not found a name for my project that I really like, so for now I wil stick with a picture in time. I have figured out the purpose for the project and how it relates to a particular audience.

10/13- I finished my film treatment today, however I am unable to figure out how to post it to the website. Tommorow I must ask someone for help. Also I need to continue brainstorming on another name for the project.

Final Project Concept

"Life through a picture." We often look at a picture and are reminded of an event in our past. In that moment the image is recreated in our minds as if it were actually happening. This 30 second project will reflect that concept. Using clips from different events, I will produce a scenario of pictures in a photo album coming to life. As the pages turn, several pictures will be shown, until the album lands on a particular picture and the photo comes to life.

Journal Entry for week of Oct. 3

10/3- Today I 've been brainstorming ideas on final project. So far I know I want to use the 2nd concept with the photo album. I 'm not sure how I want it to work.

10/4- Today I learned how to make transitions that look like turning the page. This will help me accomplish the photo album look that I am going for. I also learned more about how to freeze a frame inside of a transition. I will need this tool for my final project.

10/5- I think I want the idea to be simple. "Pictures are lifes captured moments." I think this will be my theme.

10/6- Each picture should be from something different. Like a kid playing soccer, a wedding picture, an outdoor concert, a group of friends celebrating a birthday. Just normal life events.
